Led by Zak Crawley and Joe Root<\/a>, England batted itself into a strong position on day two of the fourth Ashes Test<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crawley smashed 189 runs from 182 balls and Root 84\ufeff from 95, the pair combining for a 206-run stand at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

The hosts lead by 67 runs at the close play with Ben Stokes (24) and Harry Brook (14) the batsmen set to resume in the middle on day three.<\/p>\n
