S\ufefftar hooker Api Koroisau<\/a> has committed his future to the besieged Wests Tigers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The club captain has had a difficult first season with the joint venture club, with wins hard to come by and a broken jaw sidelining him for a lengthy period.<\/p>\n

However, he has shown faith in the Tigers' vision for the future, signing on to stay for the start of the Benji Marshall era<\/a>, with the 2005 premiership legend set to take the reins from Tim Sheens<\/a> at the end of next season.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Koroisau's initial deal with the Tigers was a two-year contract with a mutual option, giving him an out at the end of next season if the option wasn't triggered.<\/p>\n

However, that uncertainty has been taken out of the equation after Koroisau agreed to extend his deal until the end of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I'm grateful for the opportunity to further demonstrate my commitment to the club," Koroisau said in a club statement announcing the deal.<\/p>\n

"I'm also excited to be working with the young talent we have coming through and helping them to become great NRL players."<\/p>\n

Coach Tim Sheens added \ufeffthat Koroisau's signing was a boost for the club, coming just a day after it was confirmed the Tigers had won the battle for the signatures of promising brothers, Latu and Samuela Fainu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"He is a great leader and he has done a wonderful job this season," Sheens said.<\/p>\n

Koroisau will lead out the Tigers when they face the St George Illawarra Dragons for a potential wooden spoon deciding Thursday night clash to kick off round 21.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Tigers currently sit at the bottom of the ladder with 12 points, one win adrift of the Dragons.\ufeff<\/p>\n
