The addition of an invite-only exhibition to this year's Bathurst International<\/a> and a chance to lap Mount Panorama<\/a> in an IndyCar<\/a> has piqued Will Power's<\/a> interest.<\/p>\n

The Bathurst International on November 10-12 will feature a single-seater cavalcade with high-powered open-wheelers set to grace the famous Mountain course.<\/p>\n

Among the machines being targeted are contemporary cars from Formula 1<\/a> and IndyCar.<\/p>\n

Stan Sport is the only place to watch all the 2023 SpeedSeries.<\/strong><\/em> All the action streaming ad free, live and on demand<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

A rare chance for Power to tackle The Mountain in a single-seater has the dual IndyCar Series winner excited.<\/p>\n

"I would love to be the one," said Power when asked if he'd like an invite.<\/p>\n

"Oh, wow. Oh, man. Well, they should call me up. I want to take my car down there.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I am the only Australian in this series, so I'll be really disappointed if they send a Kiwi."<\/p>\n

Whether a current model IndyCar would be available or could be taken from the United States to Australia is not yet known.<\/p>\n

As the name suggests, the current-spec Dallara DW12 was introduced to the IndyCar Series in 2012.<\/p>\n

The car has undergone several updates in the years since, but there are few, if any, running outside of the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, there are at least a handful of previous-generation cars from the Champ Car and Indy Racing League era in Australia.<\/p>\n

The most modern "Indy" car in the country that is known to be running is owned by Mathew Radisich, the nephew of New Zealand racing legend Paul Radisich.<\/p>\n

That vehicle has made cameos around the country, most recently at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.<\/p>\n

The naturally-aspirated, V8-powered single-seater raced in the final iteration of the Gold Coast street race in 2008 before that event was taken over by Supercars.<\/p>\n

That year, Alex Tagliani drove the Dallara IR-07 at Surfers Paradise.<\/p>\n

The invite-only exhibition will see a total of 10 open-wheelers take to the track for three 20-minute sessions.<\/p>\n

One S5000 car is already confirmed to take part in the event.<\/p>\n

This year's Bathurst International is headlined by the TCR World Tour as part of the TCR Australia Series.<\/p>\n

Touring Car Masters will add a fleet of cars from New Zealand to its grid as well for a bumper line-up.<\/p>\n

The Bathurst International will also feature the National Trans Am Series, V8 Touring Cars, Porsche Sprint Challenge, and Production Cars.<\/p>\n

The Bathurst International event is the last leg of this year's SpeedSeries calendar, which continues on August \ufeff11-13 at Queensland Raceway.<\/p>\n
