Shane van Gisbergen<\/a> is set to make his second NASCAR Cup Series<\/a> start in the space of a month with confirmation he'll return with TrackHouse Racing.<\/p>\n

The three-time Supercars<\/a> champion will once again pilot the Project91 entry alongside Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez, this time at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

Van Gisbergen is the second Supercars star confirmed for the event at the famed Brickyard after Brodie Kostecki announced his forthcoming debut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stan Sport is the only place to watch the 2023 IndyCar Series, featuring Will Power, Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon.<\/strong><\/em> All the action streaming ad free, live and on demand<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

"I never dreamed this could have all rolled out this way," said van Gisbergen.<\/p>\n

"Just getting to race in NASCAR is an opportunity I never thought I would get, but then to win and get another chance this year is beyond anything I imagined.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the streets of Chicago, van Gisbergen stunned world motorsport by winning on debut.<\/p>\n

In inclement conditions, the Kiwi raced from the middle of the field in a rain-shortened affair to beat Kaulig Racing's Justin Haley in a thrilling finish.<\/p>\n

On August 13, he'll return to the series with a chance to go back-to-back.<\/p>\n

The series will race on the road course configuration, which uses part of the front straight and was is usually turn one, albeit, in reverse.<\/p>\n

NASCAR will share the circuit with IndyCar across the August 13-14 weekend, with the single-seater series on Sunday followed by the stock cars on Monday.<\/p>\n

"After a performance like that it's only natural to want to keep this going," said Marks.<\/p>\n

"Shane showed he is a world-class talent and what he did in Chicago was truly remarkable. Project91, Trackhouse Racing and the fans of NASCAR benefit by bringing him back.<\/p>\n

Van Gisbergen's return comes amid rampant speculation he will depart Supercars at the end of 2023 to race full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series next year.<\/p>\n

Exactly where he lands is yet to be detailed, although signing with Trackhouse Racing seems likely in any case.\ufeff<\/p>\n
