England<\/a> allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt hit another century as the hosts claimed a Women\u2019s Ashes<\/a> series draw with a 69-run win over Australia<\/a> under the DLS method in the final one-day international at Taunton.<\/p>\n

Victory saw the multi-series format drawn 8-8 on points \u2014 the same score as when England last avoided Ashes defeat in Australia five years ago \u2014 and meant England had won both the ODI and Twenty20 series 2-1.<\/p>\n

Urn holder Australia had already retained the Ashes by winning the second ODI in Southampton on Sunday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fresh from her unbeaten 111 at Southampton, Sciver-Brunt made her second hundred in the space of three days \u2014 129 runs from 149 balls \u2014 as England was put into bat and finished on 9-285 to set Australia a challenging target.<\/p>\n

Sciver-Brunt scored a fourth century from five ODIs against Australia, and the seventh of her England career in this format.<\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s target was reduced to 269 from 44 overs by rain and, despite Ashleigh Gardner providing brief hope with 41 from 24 balls, the visitors were bowled out for 199 in 35.3 overs as England ran out comfortable winners to the delight of a capacity crowd.<\/p>\n

"England have outplayed us, and played a fearless brand of cricket, and it is something we should look at," Gardner said post-match.<\/p>\n

"Of course we came here to win the Ashes, retaining it is great. We were in positions to win but didn't show fight where we needed to. Plenty of things to work on.<\/p>\n

"We need to find the fighting spirit which we lacked this series. We need to make sure that we are striding forward and taking the game on.<\/p>\n

"We do a lot of training as cricketers, we have to know that we don't lose skills in one day."<\/p>\n
