I just hoped to make the best of it, and the result, yes, I&#x27;m very happy about!<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The first lap was strung out. I was right at the back, but I felt good on the second and third laps and moved up just a bit. The last lap is really tough always, but I finished OK.&quot;\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>He&#x27;s delighted to have met the world championship and Olympic qualifying times.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>&quot;\ufeffIt was great to get qualifiers, in particular for Paris next year,&quot; said Myers, who&#x27;s in year 11 at Canberra&#x27;s Lake Ginninderra College.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;That&#x27;s really pleasing.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Myers, who&#x27;s coached by renowned Australian running coach Dick Telford, admitted to sparing little thought for the under-18 world best during the lead-up to the race.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AthleticsWeekly\/status\/1680626020741775362\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"embed-social embed-twitter\" data-show-caption=\"false\" data-conversation=\"none\">https:\/\/twitter.com\/AthleticsWeekly\/status\/1680626020741775362<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&quot;That under-18 world best is kinda cool,&quot; he sai\ufeffd.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I wasn&#x27;t thinking too much about that.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;All I know is I&#x27;ve got to keep improving in the next years.&quot;\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>The Silesia Diamond League was also a success for Linden Hall, who broke the \ufeffAustralian women&#x27;s 1500-metre record, and ran world championship and Olympic qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p>Charging home fifth, the 32-year-old from Melbourne clocked 3:57.27 to break the national record held by Jessica Hull, <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/athletics\/athletics-news-2023-jessica-hull-breaks-australian-1500-metre-record-faith-kipyegon-smashes-world-record-at-florence-diamond-league\/503681d0-e894-4ce4-96ca-93a03dd074c0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"who&#x27;d punched out a 3:57.29 at the Florence Diamond League last month\">who&#x27;d punched out a 3:57.29 at the Florence Diamond League last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"18c6fe3a-c73a-4958-acb1-7e91fd0f71e9\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/18c6fe3a-c73a-4958-acb1-7e91fd0f71e9-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"5184\" data-height=\"3456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>High jumper Nicola Olyslagers was another stand-out Australian at the Silesia Diamond League, registering 1.98 metres to share victory with two women from Ukraine, Iryna Herashchenko and Yuliya Levchenko.<\/p>\n<p>While Olyslagers didn&#x27;t reach the height of her personal best, 2.02 metres, she now shares the Silesia Diamond League meet record with\ufeff the two Ukrainians, and achieved the Olympic entry standard.
