Christian Lundgaard is desperate to end his duck in the IndyCar Series<\/a>, and with it, end a long-standing bet.<\/p>\n

At the end of last year, the Danish driver's best friend came to the United States where they agreed they'd not shave their moustaches until the IndyCar driver wins a race this season.<\/p>\n

It's been more than half a year since that bet and the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver is still searching for a breakthrough.<\/p>\n

Stan Sport is the only place to watch the 2023 IndyCar Series, featuring Will Power, Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon.<\/strong><\/em> All the action streaming ad free, live and on demand<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

His best finish this year remains a pair of fourths at the Indianapolis road course and Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course.<\/p>\n

"I would definitely like to get rid of my moustache, and we all know what that means," said the 21-year-old.<\/p>\n

"I do feel like it's about time now. I'm tired of waiting."<\/p>\n

Lundgaard is hopeful he'll be able to get the shaver out in Toronto this weekend but admits it's more likely to come when the series returns to Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

That was the site of his IndyCar debut in 2021 and his first podium in the series in 2022.<\/p>\n

"Luckily, we have another Indy GP later this year, in August, and we've been competitive there," he explained.<\/p>\n

"I had my first podium, had my first pole there, so I might as well get my first win at the speedway.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I really do think that we have that opportunity at that race. We just need to nail it during that weekend."<\/p>\n

If not Toronto or Indianapolis, the Formula 2 graduate is optimistic chances might be forthcoming by the end of the season.<\/p>\n

"Again, there might be other opportunities. We know we'll be strong at the two road courses at the end of the year, and I do think we'll be strong at Nashville as well," said Lundgaard.<\/p>\n

"We just need to figure Iowa and St. Louis out, and I think we can at least finish around sixth or seventh in the championship if we really do things well.<\/p>\n

"I'm definitely hoping for a podium, definitely hoping for a win. We've come close a couple of times this year. So I'm definitely hoping we get to that."<\/p>\n

Lundgaard sits 10th in the drivers' championship after nine races.<\/p>\n

The IndyCar Series takes to the streets of Toronto on July 15-17 with Stan Sport carrying coverage of practice, qualifying, and the race.<\/p>\n
