The Cronulla Sharks<\/a> are reportedly considering cancelling former prime minister Scott Morrison<\/a>'s No.1 ticketholder status as the Liberal party backbencher faces scrutiny for his role in the robo-debt \ufeffscheme.<\/p>\n

According to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>, Cronulla is considering the action despite Morrison rejecting the findings in the 990-page report<\/a> from the royal commission into robo-debt.<\/p>\n

"I reject completely each of the findings which are critical of my involvement in authorising the scheme and are adverse to me," Morrison said.<\/p>\n

Politicians have often held \ufeffthe status at a number of clubs with ex-prime minister Tony Abbott and former NSW premier Gladys Berejikilian both honoured with stints as No.1 ticketholder at Manly.<\/p>\n

Former federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg was also given the status at Melbourne in 2020. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The Sharks named Morrison their No.1 ticketholder in 2016, with the former prime minster a consistent member of the crowd at Shark Park, during his term and after it.<\/p>\n

"We are delighted we can now call our No.1 ticketholder the Prime Minister of Australia," chief executive Dino Mezzatesta said in a 2018 statement.<\/p>\n

"We feel honoured that he chooses to be associated with our club and offer our sincere congratulations on his appointment."<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Morrison told the Herald that Sharks management had denied the story, despite an official leaking the news to the masthead.<\/p>\n

The Sharks will reportedly revoke Morrison's status if found guilty of any negligence or wrongdoing. \ufeff<\/p>\n
