Has Wimbledon<\/a> seen the last of Andy Murray<\/a>?<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old cannot decide whether his latest defeat on the iconic SW19 grass will be his last, though a string of early exits isn't doing his mental health much good.<\/p>\n

"I don't know," said Murray when asked if he would return in 2024.<\/p>\n

"Motivation is obviously a big thing. Continuing having early losses in tournaments like this doesn't necessarily help with that."<\/p>\n

The former world No.1 is among the greatest tennis players of all-time and is part of the 'Big Four' alongside Novak Djokovic<\/a>, Rafael Nadal<\/a>, and the recently retired Roger Federer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Murray hasn't featured in a Grand Slam final since his Wimbledon win in 2016 and its been a hard slog thereafter with not a single finals berth since 2017.<\/p>\n

The three-time Grand Slam winner won the first of those titles at Wimbledon a decade ago, in which he ended a 77-year drought between wins for Great Britain in men's singles.<\/p>\n

However, the latest loss to 24-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas has him questioning his future at the pinnacle of the sport.<\/p>\n

"Losing in the second round, I don't find that motivating, it's not why I put all of the work in," said Murray.<\/p>\n

"It's similar to last year, I guess. I had a long think about things, spoke to my family, and decided to keep on going.<\/p>\n

"I'm unbelievably disappointed and upset now. Maybe I will feel different in a few days but right now it doesn't feel good."<\/p>\n

Murray has had some success this year, albeit on the ATP Challenger Tour, with wins in Surbiton and Nottingham.<\/p>\n

However, he was beaten by Australia's Alex de Minaur in the round of 32 at the Queen's Club Championship.<\/p>\n

That meant he missed out on a seeding and faced the prospect of an early match-up with a highly-ranked opponent.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, he came up against Tsitsipas, who earlier this year fell to Novak Djokovic in an enthralling final at the Australian Open.<\/p>\n

Despite his opponent being more than 10 years his junior, Murray showed glimpses of what made him famous and that a win might be forthcoming.<\/p>\n

Murray led 2-1 but Tsitsipas eventually overcame the Brit to triumph 7-6, 6-7, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.<\/p>\n

"I certainly can," said Murray of his ability to match the best.<\/p>\n

"It's clear based on how the match went. There was only a few points in it. But it's not just about winning the odd match against them really.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"To have a run at these tournaments, you need multiple, multiple wins in a row. I've not done that."<\/p>\n

Tsitsipas will face Laslo Djere in the third round on Saturday.<\/p>\n
