The Rabbitohs<\/a> will have to go into battle again this weekend without the services of their biggest stars, but there's good news on the horizon with Latrell Mitchell<\/a>'s spluttering season set to get back on the tracks before the end of the month.<\/p>\n

Even without Damien Cook<\/a>, Cody Walker<\/a> and Cameron Murray<\/a>, South Sydney have been tipped to \ufeffbeat the Bulldogs on Saturday night by the majority of Nine's tipsters, including Andrew Johns<\/a>, but it's Mitchell's return that will have most of Redfern on tenterhooks, with the club's premiership hopes hanging on the most electrifying player in the NRL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs were flying high when Mitchell injured his calf in NSW camp in the lead up to State of Origin I but they've had a big dip since, and have been sucked back into the battle for top eight positions, with just four points separating third and 10th.<\/p>\n

The congested ladder makes Saturday's clash of an understrength powerhouse and a battling Bulldogs<\/a> side crucial but if the Rabbitohs lose it they can at least look ahead to round 21 with a sense of excitement, with Mitchell revealing he had the Friday night clash with the Broncos after next weekend's bye circled in the calendar.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>, Mitchell joked about "flat tyres for the Ferrari" before revealing his timeline to return.<\/p>\n

"I can pretty much do everything [now] but not being there for your teammates is the most frustrating part," he said.<\/p>\n

"I owe this club a lot. I also love Origin, [NSW coach Brad] Fittler knows that, he knows how proud I am to wear the Blues jersey.<\/p>\n

"But it is what it is at the moment. Things happen for reason and it's not my time.<\/p>\n

"I want to get everything right and be there for the end of the season."\ufeff<\/p>\n
