Aussie stocks for Wimbledon<\/a> have taken another hit, with Ajla Tomljanovic<\/a> confirming she will not return to the court at the All-England club.<\/p>\n

Having also been forced to withdraw from the Australian Open<\/a> and then Roland-Garros<\/a>, Tomljanovic \u2013 Australia's top-ranked woman \u2013 was hoping to make her return from knee surgery for the grass court season.<\/p>\n

But the 30-year-old, who hasn't played since November, took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to confirm her knee still isn't ready.<\/p>\n

"After experiencing many special emotions and memories at Wimbledon over the last few years, I had very high hopes of making my return there this year," she wrote.<\/p>\n

\"Ajla<\/p>\n

"Unfortunately, my knee is still asking for just a bit more time before I can have full confidence in it in order to play at my best level."<\/p>\n

Tomljanovic went deep at Wimbledon in 2022, making it to the quarter-final, where she was knocked out by eventual champion Elena Rybakina 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.<\/p>\n

"(I'm) really eager to get back out there, but this year Wimbledon came a bit sooner than I was ready for. I know it will be worth the wait and I am already looking forward to next year."<\/p>\n

The Australian contingent is set to be led by Daria Saville, who herself is on the comeback trail from an ACL injury.<\/p>\n
