Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> is starting to feel like a veteran on grass, despite playing in only the third tournament of his young career on the surface.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old Spaniard reached his first ATP<\/a> final on grass and moved one win away from reclaiming the top ranking by taking out Sebastian Korda 6-3 6-4 at the Queen\u2019s Club Championships on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now I feel like [I've been] playing for 10 years on grass, it\u2019s something crazy for me,\u201d Alcaraz said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t expect to adapt my movement, my game so fast on grass. I\u2019m really happy with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the first match, I feel the love from the crowd. I would say that it\u2019s impossible to win these kinds of matches without them, without the energy they bring to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Australian Alex de Minaur<\/a> stands between Alcaraz and the No.1 ranking, and the current world No.2 is wary of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a big challenge for me. His game is really good on grass,\u201d Alcaraz said. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe serves so flat. He\u2019s going to be very dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alcaraz and Korda played their first career semi final on grass.<\/p>\n

Korda, the first American to reach the Queen\u2019s semi finals in 11 years, served nine aces but also double-faulted six times. His slice was regularly punished by Alcaraz\u2019s heavy forehands.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz won the only break point of the second set and held on.<\/p>\n

Victory would give Alcaraz his fifth title of the year, his 11th tour title overall and move the US Open champion above Novak Djokovic in the ATP rankings \u2014 meaning he would also enter Wimbledon next month as the No.1 seed. <\/p>\n

Last year, Alcaraz lost in the fourth round to Jannik Sinner at SW19.<\/p>\n

The second-seeded Holger Rune also came to London never having won a tour-level match on grass, like Alcaraz.<\/p>\n

De Minaur knocked out Rune 6-3 7-6 (2), saving three break points and breaking the 20-year-old Dane's serve twice.<\/p>\n

De Minaur has pedigree on grass. The Australian won Eastbourne in 2021 and reached the final 16 at Wimbledon last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have played decent on grass and I am having a good week, and this was my best performance of the week,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

De Minaur won the biggest title of his career \u2014 and his seventh \u2014 in March at Acapulco<\/a>.<\/p>\n
