Australian youngster Phoebe Litchfield had her Test<\/a> debut turn into a nightmare when she walked off despite not being out.<\/p>\n

\ufeffLitchfield, 20, was handed her baggy green before the Ashes<\/a> at Trent Bridge and strolled to the crease first up alongside fellow opener Beth Mooney.<\/p>\n

She looked solid and worked her way to 23 off 32 deliveries, before opting to leave a Kate Cross ball that swung in and hit the Aussie on the front pad.<\/p>\n

The umpire gave it out and Litchfield and Mooney opted not to review, but replays showed the ball would have missed the stumps and the decision would have been overturned.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt was interesting watching that delivery because she gets hit and then she drags that leg back," Mel Jones said in commentary.<\/p>\n

"I think… why they decided not to go upstairs was when she dragged it back it made everything look more in line.<\/p>\n

"I think in her mind\ufeff Phoebe Litchfield has already given herself (out), so that's where you've got to be strong and go, 'no, let's stop here, let's go through the processes'."<\/p>\n

She was on 99 when she cut a Lauren Filer delivery to backward point, and was caught out by Natalie Sciver-Brunt.<\/p>\n

\ufeffMuch earlier in her innings, Ellyse Perry almost had her innings ended on only 10 by an incorrect decision.<\/p>\n

England debutant Filer claimed an lbw against Perry with her first delivery, but the Aussie reviewed the decision and replays showed she had hit the ball.<\/p>\n

Aussie veteran Beth Mooney became the first ever Test victim of England bowler Lauren Filer.<\/p>\n
