Essendon<\/a> great Matthew Lloyd<\/a> says he would be "very disappointed" if the club changed its iconic 'Bomber' logo amid reports indicating a change is being considered.<\/p>\n

According to SEN's Sam Edmund, Essendon is giving "strong consideration" to changing its jet logo, which was unearthed in 1997.<\/p>\n

"But the club is conducting a preliminary research project with an eye to changing its emblem," the report read.<\/p>\n

"That project includes feedback from various stakeholder, supporter and member groups.<\/p>\n

"The project is seeking to determine how Essendon members and stakeholders view their club, with a number of consultations held over the past four months."<\/p>\n

The potential switch did not sit well with Lloyd, the former Essendon captain and premiership player.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI\ufeff'd be very disappointed if the Bomber was gone, both (the name and logo)," he told Nine's Footy Classified<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"Have we got to that point, have we? That such a great logo and tradition of the Essendon Football Club because it might upset the odd person or two, we lose something so special with our football club. I hope it stays."<\/p>\n
