If the Chiefs<\/a> beat the Brumbies<\/a>, then Scott Robertson can be happy his final match at the helm of the Crusaders<\/a> at home was a win.<\/p>\n

The outcome of Saturday afternoon's contest will decide where the final is held. In any case, it'll be in New Zealand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If the Chiefs win, then they'll host the final in Hamilton. If the Brumbies win, then they head to Christchurch.<\/p>\n

A packed crowd attended what may prove to be the farewell for Robertson, who will leave his post as the Crusaders head coach before joining the All Blacks.<\/p>\n

Robertson said he was nervous about the prospect of the semi-final against the Blues being his final appearance and not knowing where the final might be held should they win.<\/p>\n

"Mate, I actually was a little bit nervous beforehand," he explained.<\/p>\n

"Potentially your final game. It's a final, you don't always get a fairytale ending.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I was a little bit nervous, but after the first 20 I was like 'oh, here we go. We're on'."<\/p>\n

The Crusaders eventually romped home to a mammoth 52-15 win.<\/p>\n

Robertson hailed the team for nailing its fundamentals when the Blues tried to be "too fancy" at times.<\/p>\n

"Because we had a six-day turnaround, what we concentrated on was just the simple things," said Robertson.<\/p>\n

"Carry height, keep the ball in front of us, run onto it, and we did.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"Obviously when we got into their 22 we executed with a couple more tries, just stayed on top of them."<\/p>\n

Asked what the talk was like at half-time when the Crusaders led 32-3, Robertson said the focus was on "scoring first" in the second half.<\/p>\n

"You've still got to score," he said.<\/p>\n

"You can start concentrating on 'oh they're going to start throwing the ball around, they've got to play catch up' but if your mindset is to score first, you're on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"You're not so much concentrating on them. And they did, they put some good phases together, but our defence was great."<\/p>\n
