Basketball star Tristan Thompson is now a U.S. citizen. <\/p>\n

According to the sportsman, who shares daughter True with Khloe Kardashian, he’s “truly living the American Dream” after being sworn in as a new American, just days after joining the Boston Celtics for the new season. <\/p>\n

“I came to the U.S. on a student visa and have always had big dreams. I’m now truly living the American dream,” he said in a statement to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. <\/p>\n

Tristan was previously a Canadian citizen and came to the United States in 2009 to study at the University of Texas. He stayed in education for a year before joining the NBA. <\/p>\n

The news comes after Khloe praised Tristan for his efforts to change his ways after he cheated on her. <\/p>\n
