Lachie Dalton announced himself as a contender for the National Trans Am Series<\/a> crown by sweeping all three races at Winton.<\/p>\n

The Garry Rogers Motorsport driver was largely untouchable at the latest SpeedSeries round, qualifying on pole position before doing the triple.<\/p>\n

Coming into the third round of the series, Dalton's previous best finish this year was second at Symmons Plains.<\/p>\n

Stan Sport is the only place to watch all the 2023 SpeedSeries.<\/strong><\/em> All the action streaming ad free, live and on demand<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Dalton beat Cody Gillis to victory in race one and race two while it was series leader James Moffat who was the runner-up in race three.<\/p>\n

All three performances were dominant by the Ford Mustang pilot who closed right in on his teammate. Moffat, the series favourite, now holds a mere nine-point advantage over Dalton.<\/p>\n

The Tasmanian-born paid tribute to his long-term sponsor construction entrepreneur Andrew Walter who hails from the Apple Isle.<\/p>\n

"A faultless weekend from the boys," said Dalton.<\/p>\n

"I can't thank Andrew (Walter) and my family enough.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"Andrew got me as a young kid out of karting and gave me an opportunity onto the national stage and now into cars, so credit to him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I would not be here without him or the Walter family or all my Tassie sponsors."<\/p>\n

While Dalton stole the show, he wasn't the only one to star.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cody Gillis was a standout having made his series debut at Symmons Plains earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He came in with a previous best finish of sixth at Phillip Island but stood on the podium in all three Winton races.<\/p>\n

Tom Hayman has been Mr Consistent this season and occupies third in the standings, albeit a sizeable 69 points in arrears.<\/p>\n

Josh Webster sits fourth while Owen Kelly's bid to win his first Trans Am title currently sees him sixth in the standings.<\/p>\n

Hayman, Webster, and Kelly are all split by just six points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The National Trans Am Series roars back into life at Queensland Raceway for a winter getaway on August 11-13.<\/p>\n
