P\ufeffenrith Panthers<\/a> coach Ivan Cleary<\/a> has taken a swing at Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, stating "he was looking for trouble" after the Roosters enforcer was involved in a number of incidents on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Panthers second-rower Liam Martin was sent for a head injury assessment<\/a> late in the game after running out of the line to put a shot on the prop, connecting with his hip before Moses Leota was also sent for an assessment minutes later when his head connected with Waerea-Hargreaves' elbow.<\/p>\n

The biggest flare up came seven minutes later, when Spencer Leniu and Waerea-Hargreaves were involved in a heated exchange.<\/p>\n

Leniu took exception after the Roosters prop – who will be his teammate next year – sprayed water on him and threw a water bottle that hit him in the head.<\/p>\n

The NSW Origin hopeful was fired up and the pair faced off for several minutes with Leniu having to be controlled by his teammates.<\/p>\n

Both men were sent to the sin bin with Leniu taunting the crowd on his way off. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Cleary was critical of Waerea-Hargreaves in the post-match press conference, labelling his actions as "condescending". \ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI thought the referee had an opportunity to kind of settle (things down), it started from Jared, he was looking for trouble, that was obvious … and he found it," he said.<\/p>\n

"There was numerous \ufeffincidents weren't there? I think the balance of probabilities was that Jared was the one initiating it, that's all that happened.<\/p>\n

"I've seen it in games (Leniu getting fired up), I don't think many front rowers like what happened. It was a little condescending I thought, just was unnecessary … I'm not sure why he (Leniu) was put in the bin, probably a good thing in the end I suppose."<\/p>\n

Whether the match review committee takes action over the incident remains to be seen, with George Burgess banned for two matches in 2016 for throwing a water bottle at Kane Evans. \ufeff<\/p>\n

On the flip side to Cleary's comments, Roosters coach Trent Robinson described the incident as "great theatre".<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt was great wasn't it, for footy?," he said.<\/p>\n

"That's why people enjoy watching footy, there was nothing in it I don't think from either end. There wasn't much to it, it was sort of heated there, I don't think Jared did anything wrong … guys tried to race out of the line and belt him and that's really unfortunate for Liam (to be concussed).<\/p>\n

\"Cleary<\/p>\n

"And then Jared was getting his bumpers up like every guy does for every tackle they run into and copped Moses (Leota) there – that's a forwards battle. And then it flared up, good theatre, move on."<\/p>\n

While Robinson was somewhat nonchalant \ufeffabout Moses Leota's HIA, Cleary didn't see it the same way.<\/p>\n

"If I'm truthful, yeah I did (have a problem with it)," he said. "\ufeffI think it was very questionable, the way he looked, where he saw him, the way it was cocked."<\/p>\n
