Wallabies<\/a> coach Eddie Jones<\/a> believes Tom Wright could become the "world's best fullback" in time.<\/p>\n

The bold statement comes as the ACT Brumbies<\/a> star commits his future to the Wallabies and his Super Rugby Pacific<\/a> side through to the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

Wright, who scored on his Wallabies debut in 2020, has 23 international caps for Australia to date.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has been a star for the Brumbies this season and has cemented his spot as the starting fullback domestically and at Test level.<\/p>\n

Jones offered a short but promising statement about Wright and his future with the team.<\/p>\n

"Tom has the ability to be the world's best fullback," said Jones.<\/p>\n

"That's the challenge for him, how much more can he find?"<\/p>\n

His Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham said he was "thrilled" to have Wright remain in the capital for two more years.<\/p>\n

"We all know what Wrighty can do on the field, but what people don't see is his leadership around the group, his voice in training and in defence," said Larkham.<\/p>\n

\"Wright<\/p>\n

"That's been a part of his game that has really impressed me.<\/p>\n

"At 25, he's only coming into his prime now but there's no doubt he has world-class attributes and with more and more consistency can be a pillar of success for this club moving forward."<\/p>\n

A prolific junior in league and union, the Sydneysider initially took a contract with the NRL's Manly Sea Eagles out of high school.<\/p>\n

He played five matches in the NRL in 2018 but that same year decided to join Super Rugby to play for the Brumbies.<\/p>\n

Wright made his debut with them in 2019 before his Test debut a year later.<\/p>\n

"Moving down from Sydney almost five years ago now, I had goals and aspirations that the Brumbies helped me achieve," said Wright.<\/p>\n

"A move to the Brumbies has been the best decision I've made and I'm grateful to the club, coaches and my teammates for their support and I'm excited for the next couple of weeks and the run to finals.<\/p>\n

"The chance to represent Australia was and is the greatest honour for me as a player and like anyone, I'm doing everything I can to make sure I can continue to wear Wallaby gold and achieve success in that jersey."<\/p>\n

Wright will start for the Brumbies when they face the chart-topping Chiefs on Saturday at 7.35pm (AEST).<\/p>\n
