The NASCAR Cup Series'<\/a> only full-time black driver was the recipient of a racist message after an unidentified individual tapped into his radio.<\/p>\n

Bubba Wallace finished second to Kyle Larson in the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, a race with a $1.5 million payout.<\/p>\n

Following the race, Wallace's radio was intercepted by an as-yet-unidentified person.<\/p>\n

"Go back to where you came from you asshole," the person can be heard saying.<\/p>\n

"You're not wanted in NASCAR."<\/p>\n

The incident has prompted an investigation by NASCAR's security operation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wallace's team 23XI Racing said the driver did not hear the remark, although audio of the incident has circulated online.<\/p>\n

The Alabama-born driver has been the subject of racist taunts throughout his career.<\/p>\n

Most famously, an incident involving a noose in his garage prompted a hate crime investigation by the FBI.<\/p>\n

The results of that investigation determined the noose was a pull-down rope in the style of a hangman's knot.<\/p>\n

Wallace received criticism after the incident, including from then-President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

In recent races, Wallace has been on the receiving end of boos from trackside fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"That's every week, yeah," he told reporters.<\/p>\n

Asked whether it bothered him, Wallace replied, "I mean, yeah. It's sports. It's always going to be there. It's going to be there every weekend.<\/p>\n

"As long as you continue to live your life judging a book by its cover, that's who you are. Don't chance it up for anybody."<\/p>\n

After the All-Star race, Wallace was interviewed and appeared to intentionally flip off the camera with his middle finger.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The NASCAR Cup Series continues on May 29 with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n
