Dolphins<\/a> coach Wayne Bennett<\/a> and Cameron Munster <\/a>have buried the hatchet after the Storm star opted not to join the NRL's<\/a> newest franchise.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins were heavily courting Munster to become the face of their franchise and the playmaker looked all but certain to become their marquee man in 2024.<\/p>\n

Munster flirted with move to the Dolphins but instead signed a four-year $4 million dollar deal to remain with Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Bennett expressed contempt for the way Munster handled the situation\ufeff, labelling Munster's lack of a courtesy call "ordinary".<\/p>\n

But the master coach revealed he and Munster are now on good terms.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"We have spoken since then and we sorted it out. It's all good," Bennett told the Courier Mail.<\/p>\n

"I told the truth at the time. He hadn't called me, but I've moved on.<\/p>\n

"It wasn't a huge issue at the time in my eyes, but I just spoke honestly about what happened and my relationship with Cameron is fine.<\/p>\n

"Cameron is a wonderful player and I've always had a good relationship with him."<\/p>\n

Bennett and Munster formed a winning combination and\ufeff won the 2020 State of Origin series with a Maroons side that were viewed as heavy underdogs.<\/p>\n

That led to speculation two could link up in the NRL, which led to the Dolphins chasing his services.\ufeff<\/p>\n

When asked if he thought Munster was going to be a Dolphins player, Bennett shrugged off the question.<\/p>\n

"I don't know. You have to ask Cameron if he was ever close to signing, but, yes, we were interested and he decided to stay at the Storm," he said.<\/p>\n

"The reality is Cameron isn't playing for the Dolphins, he is with the Storm and there's no dramas between me and him and no issue with the club.<\/p>\n

"I will talk to Cameron like I always have, it's no big deal to me now."<\/p>\n
