However, this week the Hoyas finally earned a significant victory in the recruiting department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In this video, Archbishop Ryan (Pa.) four-star center Thomas Sorber announced his commitment to Georgetown on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ARyanbasketball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ARyanbasketball<\/a> 2024 forward Thomas Sorber (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ThomasSorber_?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ThomasSorber_<\/a>) is headed to Georgetown. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wWPb4bCbY4\">pic.twitter.com\/wWPb4bCbY4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Owen McCue (@Owen_McCue) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Owen_McCue\/status\/1658921945096675330?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 17, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sorber (6-foot-9, 250 pounds) had <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Recruitment\/Thomas-Sorber-152669\/RecruitInterests\/\">offers from eight other schools<\/a>, including La Salle, Maryland, Miami, Penn State, Providence, Richmond, Syracuse and Villanova.<\/p>\n<p>Going by the 247Sports composite rankings, Sorber is the No. 13 center in the class of 2024. He also ranks fifth overall in the state of Pennsylvania <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Season\/2024-Basketball\/CompositeRecruitRankings\/?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool\">and No. 68 nationally<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sorber is Georgetown&#8217;s second hard commit of the 2024 cycle. The other is Worcester Academy (Mass.) four-star shooting guard Kayvaun Mulready.
