N\ufeffick Kyrgios<\/a>' agent has revealed a foot injury sustained during the theft of his car is the reason for his Roland-Garros<\/a> withdrawal, rather than his troublesome knee.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios officially pulled out of his second grand slam tournament for the calendar year<\/a> earlier this week, with many assuming his knee had not recovered from surgery in time.<\/p>\n

However, his agent, Daniel Horsfall, revealed Kyrgios suffered a laceration in his left foot during the "high-adrenaline rush" of having his car stolen and his mother held at gunpoint<\/a> at his family's Canberra home earlier this month.<\/p>\n

"During the incident on May 1, they had the armed robbery at the house," he said.<\/p>\n

\"Nick<\/p>\n

"With all the stuff that was going on Nick lacerated the side of his left foot. We don't know how.<\/p>\n

"Basically, it's just set him back about two-and-a-half weeks in terms of his loading schedule to get back on court for what we thought was going to be the grand slam."<\/p>\n

Kyrgios was forced to withdraw from the Australian Open just days out from the tournament due to a knee injury that required surgery. Horsfall said the 28-year-old's knee has recovered well in the months that have followed.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"His knee, as far as we're concerned, is actually in fantastic shape, the surgery went well," he said.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios, currently the world No.25, has not played in a tournament since last October and has not played at Roland-Garros since his second-round exit in 2017.<\/p>\n
