T\ufeffhe AFL<\/a> has confirmed that this year's grand final<\/a> will remain in its traditional afternoon time slot after a commission meeting.<\/p>\n

This year's decider will take place on Saturday, September 30 and will once again return to a traditional 2.30pm AEST time slot for a second straight year.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Last year saw the decider return to the traditional time of a 2.30pm bounce after COVID-19 had forced \ufeffa night grand final in 2020 and a twilight grand final in 2021. The 2022 grand final saw an incredible 100,024 spectators in attendance as Geelong<\/a> thumped Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"The Toyota AFL Grand Final is the biggest and best sporting event in the country. It is our game's biggest moment, and this year the bounce of the ball will again be at 2:30pm AEST," AFL CEO McLachlan said in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Despite the decision to remain with tradition for a second straight year, McLachlan added that the commission will "continue to review the start time for future grand finals".\ufeff<\/p>\n

There is also a return to tradition with the time of the Brownlow Medal ceremony this year, with that event to return to its traditional Monday evening time slot on grand final week.<\/p>\n

Last year's ceremony was shifted due to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. \ufeff<\/p>\n
