Boom South Sydney Rabbitohs fullback Latrell Mitchell<\/a> will make his long-awaited return from injury for the NRL All Stars match this month, after he was included in the Indigenous All Stars squad set to face the Maori All Stars.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old<\/a> hasn't played since injuring his left hamstring in round 16 of the 2020 NRL season, which cut short his first campaign with Souths after just 14 games.<\/p>\n

New Rabbitohs teammate Benji Marshall will also run out at North Queensland Stadium on February 20, after the veteran playmaker was named in the Maori All Stars squad.<\/p>\n

Marshall has endured a rollercoaster off-season, having rejected a monster deal with Super League club Hull FC worth $722,000, and having been in talks with the Broncos, Cowboys, Sharks, Bulldogs and Roosters. The former New Zealand international ended months of speculation when he penned a one-year deal with Souths last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maori All Stars coach David Kidwell named Marshall and younger brother Jeremy Marshall-King on an extended bench – and he said the Wests Tigers legend was ecstatic about the call-up.<\/p>\n

"When I phoned Benji and asked if he would like to represent the Indigenous Maori, you could just hear the excitement that came across the line from him," Kidwell told NRL.com<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"And to also be able to play with his brother Jeremy, which he's never been able to do before – I think that's really important and something we did well last year.<\/p>\n

"He's looking forward to getting into camp and using his experience."<\/p>\n

In one of the biggest surprises of the squad announcements, Gold Coast Titans weapon Jamal Fogarty unseated Dally M medallist Jack Wighton for the five-eighth position. Wighton wore the No.6 jersey in last year's All Stars clash but is this year set to line up at centre, where he controversially played in the 2020 State of Origin series.<\/p>\n

And while Jarome Luai and Jahrome Hughes squared off in the halves in last year's Penrith-Melbourne grand final, the young guns will join forces for the Maori All Stars this month.<\/p>\n

The Maori All Stars beat their Indigenous counterparts 30-16 on the Gold Coast in last year's clash.<\/p>\n
