READ MORE:<\/strong> Bellamy makes call on Storm coaching future<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong> Aussie Jason Day breaks five-year PGA Tour win drought<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong> Kerr fires Chelsea to Cup win in front of record crowd<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Faced with the opportunity to force the playoff to a second hole, Smith made a meal of his putt and pushed it well to the right of the hole.<\/p>\n Smith started the day six shots from the lead, but lit up the leaderboard with a LIV Golf record-equalling nine-under round to put himself in contention.<\/p>\n Johnson meanwhile started the day with the lead, but looked to be in massive trouble when he made triple-bogey on the par-4 10th.<\/p>\n "Everything I could do wrong, I did wrong on the hole," Johnson said\u00a0<\/p>\n "To fight back and birdie 18 two times in a row when I had to, I'm really happy with that."<\/p>\n For his win, Johnson took home $6m, while Smith would walk away with $2.8m for a share of second place – the Aussie effectively losing $3.2 million thanks to his shonky final putt.<\/p>\n Around the same time, Minjee Lee made a meal of a birdie putt to lose her own playoff at the LPGA Founders Cup.<\/p>\n Lee started the final round with a three-stroke lead, but stumbled to be taken to a playoff by Korean Jin Young Ko.<\/p>\n Lee stuck her second shot into the par-4 18th to about seven metres, while Ko was faced with an even more lengthy putt.<\/p>\n When Ko missed hers, Lee had the chance to win, but instead made arguably her worst putt of the day which saw the ball race well past the hole.<\/p>\n While Ko had more or less a tap in for par, Lee had a good three metre putt coming back, and couldn't sink it.<\/p>\n Ko won $675,000, while Lee took home $423,000 for second.<\/p>\n "Yes, obviously I would've liked to have won, but looking back at my whole year and assessing where I am, like how I did this week, I think (there's) a lot more positives than negatives," Lee said.<\/p>\n "Obviously, I'm a little bit disappointed, but I think I can take more of the happy moments into the next stretch of events and the rest of the year.
