Three years on since Raiders<\/a> forward Corey Horsburgh flipped off fans<\/a>, the enforcer's rivalry with Ryan Matterson<\/a> has continued after he punched the Eels<\/a> lock on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Tensions erupted at GIO Stadium \ufeffwhen a melee broke out after a knock on from Eels second-rower Andrew Davey.<\/p>\n

Horsburgh then ran in and set his sights on Matterson, throwing a punch at the Eels forward before a number of players attempted to break it up.<\/p>\n

The Queensland State of Origin hopeful was then sent to the sin bin while Matterson stayed on the field. \ufeffParramatta was penalised for initiating the conflict.<\/p>\n

"This got a little more heated than usual," Dan Ginnane said on commentary for Fox League.<\/p>\n

"It seemed a little physical since it was going to be called a knock on but wow there seems to be punches thrown here."<\/p>\n

\ufeffPremiership winning legend Mick Ennis was left confused by the incident.<\/p>\n

"Bit of a flair up over nothing there, it was a great shot by Wighton and Croker on Davey," he said.<\/p>\n

Former Queensland Origin coach Mal Meninga was critical of Horsburgh, considering the Eels \ufeffscored through J'maine Hopgood while the lock was off the field.<\/p>\n

"I think it's dumb, that's my person opinion, you just don't do that," he said at half-time.<\/p>\n

"He's let the team down, ten minutes in the bin and Parramatta scores … it wasn't the right thing to do."\ufeff<\/p>\n

The clash between the two forwards brings back memories from June 2020 when Horsburgh squared up to Matterson after taking exemption to the way he was tackled at the knees.<\/p>\n

Horsburgh then hobbled off the field before flipping the bird at Parramatta's supporters.<\/p>\n
