A fundraising page set up to help Warriors<\/a> coach Andrew Webster<\/a> pay potential fines has been taken down after the side's 18-6 loss to the Panthers<\/a> at Magic Round.<\/p>\n

The Warriors were subject to two sin-bins\ufeff and a 5-3 penalty count against them in the defeat, with supporters and sponsors coming out swinging at the adjudication.<\/p>\n

Jason Paris, the chief of One New Zealand – \ufeffthe club's major sponsor – accused referees of "cheating of the highest order" during the Magic Round clash with Penrith<\/a><\/p>\n

"\ufeffHow biased are the NRL Bunker and referees against the Warriors?" Paris tweeted.<\/p>\n

"Have they got money on them to lose? It's like we are permanently against 14 on the field and they want us to play with 12."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Paris has since stated his comments were as a fan and not a sponsor<\/a><\/p>\n

"\ufeffJust to clear things up – I do not think the NRL referees are cheating," Paris wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n

"They come to work every day to do their best job for the game. My comments were made in the heat of the moment as a passionate fan."<\/p>\n

Since the mayhem, Warriors fan Connor Hathaway started a Givealittle page titled, 'Cover the cost of Webby's NRL fine', which has since been closed.<\/p>\n

Webster has been consistently coy when making comments about referees in post-match press conferences, for fear of being fined.<\/p>\n

The Warriors coach was in a joking mood on \ufeffSaturday after the round 10 loss when asked about a Moses Leota tackle that wasn't penalised after Tohu Harris was checked by medical staff.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffYeah I saw it (the tackle)… I get asked this every week, I'm going to take a hat around and get you guys (journalists) to pay for my fine, if you all want to chip in I'll give you whatever (comment) you want," he said.<\/p>\n

Webster did go on to question the circumstances around a separate incident.<\/p>\n

"I'll give you an example, Dallin (Watene-Zelezniak) comes to me … he's got a swollen face and a sore nose. No one has done that on purpose, yet he goes to the HIA and nothing happens. Things like that, I'm not understanding at the moment,"\ufeff he said.<\/p>\n

Hathaway informed donors the page had been taken down \ufeffby stating "we are no longer allowed to donate to the Warriors or Webby".<\/p>\n

$864 had been raised before the target of $10,000 could be reached. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Donations to the fund will either be refunded or sent to charity.<\/p>\n
