Ben Hunt<\/a>'s player manager has denied reports the Maroons<\/a> star is looking for an out from the Dragons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anthony Griffin<\/a>'s men have lost four games on the trot and languish in 15th on the ladder, as pressure once again mounts on one of the most maligned coaches in the NRL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amid suggestions Griffin is unlikely to receive a contract extension and could well leave Kogarah before the end of the season, speculation is rife that Hunt – who is close to Griffin and has supported him throughout the season – could seek a release.<\/p>\n

He has since been linked to a shock move to the Raiders.<\/p>\n

But Hunt's manager Col Davis said he "wasn't shopping him around".<\/p>\n

"I'm in regular dialogue with Ben and we spoke as recently as this morning," Davis told the Sydney Morning Herald.<\/a><\/p>\n

"He only recently re-signed and is contracted until the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

"At no point has he agitated for a release or said that he wants out. He's also expressed no concerns about spending some time at dummy-half.<\/p>\n

"It's no secret that he's got great respect for the coach and that he hopes somehow things will work themselves out.<\/p>\n

"I'm not shopping him around, he hasn't agitated for a release and we'll let the process unfold."<\/p>\n

With Jack Wighton moving to South Sydney at the end of the season, Nine's Danny Weidler said Hunt could be the replacement half the Raiders were after<\/a>, but admitted a lot of water had to pass under the bridge for it to happen.<\/p>\n

"There's obviously a lot of money they're going to have in their cap and they're going to be able to spend it on a quality half," he said on Nine's 100% Footy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"I've been speaking to some people at Canberra. They've been linked previously to Luke Brooks, they're saying that ship has probably sailed.<\/p>\n

"I think privately a player they'd really love to have \ufeffis Ben Hunt. Now a lot's got to happen to make that happen \ufeffso it's very much an outside chance, but he's the style of player and person they would like at their club."<\/p>\n

While Hunt has been named at No.7 for the Dragons' Magic Round clash against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon, the axing of Jacob Liddle – as well as Zac Lomax, Toby Couchman and Jaiyden Hunt – will see him spend time at dummy half.\u00a0<\/p>\n
