A good week just got better for Wests Tigers<\/a> with the club signing one of the best utility backs in the Queensland Cup<\/a> – immediately.<\/p>\n

Wynnum's Tony Pellow, a 26-year-old who can play fullback, centre and halfback, is expected to make his debut in the NSW Cup next weekend.<\/p>\n

His arrival coincides with a massive week for the Tigers in which they knocked off premiers Penrith<\/a> in what some critics are calling the upset of the decade.<\/p>\n

A Dubbo junior, Pellow played for St George Illawarra<\/a> in the NSW Cup before stints with the Brisbane Tigers and Wynnum in Queensland.<\/p>\n

He came to the attention of Tigers scouts in the sunshine state with his form for Wynnum this season and has signed with the club until the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

He is expected to put the pressure on Luke Brooks – who ironically played his best game for several seasons in the Penrith boilover – and could also challenge for the fullback spot, although the Tigers have found a real prospect there in 21-year-old Kiwi Jahream Bula.<\/p>\n
