Kevin Durant <\/a>and Nike have agreed to a lifetime contract, making him just the third NBA player to receive such a deal, joining Michael Jordan <\/a>and LeBron James<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 13-time All-Star has a relationship with Nike that dates back to 2007, releasing 15 different sets of shoes. A 16th is coming soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot, man," Durant said Friday at Suns practice. "It\u2019s a dream come true. It\u2019s something that I\u2019ve been working towards since I was a kid and having a partnership with Nike. To be in that company is a blessing. Looking forward to what we can do in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lifetime deal will continue to include shoes and other apparel, along with other \u201ccommunity and philanthropic collaboration focused on grassroots basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Durant's NBA journey has carried him from Seattle to Oklahoma City to Golden State to Brooklyn and now to Phoenix. He said that even back in 2007 as a 19-year-old entering the league, he was confident he'd be successful.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did think that if I stay focused and stay locked in to what I know I can do, I could do some big things and I can have a huge partner like Nike,\u201d Durant said. "It\u2019s just a matter of staying focused and having that endurance to keep getting up and doing this every day. So yeah, I had confidence that I can do so. But I had to put in a lot of work to get here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old Durant joined the Suns in a midseason trade with the Nets. The two-time Finals MVP paired with Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton to help the Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll face the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of the second round on Sunday.<\/p>\n
