Harry Wilson has cemented his future in Australia through to 2025, despite no guarantees from Wallabies<\/a> coach Eddie Jones<\/a> of his place in the national side.<\/p>\n

The Gunnedah product has re-signed with Rugby Australia and will continue with the Queensland Reds<\/a> in Super Rugby Pacific<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wilson made his debut for Australia in 2020 against New Zealand. That year he also made his first Super Rugby start.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has so far played in 12 Tests, starting in all but one. However, he only made two cameos in 2022 amid a public fallout with then-head coach Dave Rennie.<\/p>\n

Wilson's recommitment comes despite initially missing out on selection for the recent Wallabies camp, the first since Eddie Jones was appointed as head coach.<\/p>\n

In the end, he made it to the Gold Coast after being called up at the 11th hour to replace the injured duo of Pete Samu and Langi Gleeson.<\/p>\n

Jones offered a brief assessment of the prodigious talent, who he said needs to step up.<\/p>\n

"Harry needs to work harder to fulfil his talent," he said.<\/p>\n

"I'm sure he will make the right choice and we are backing him 100 per cent."<\/p>\n

Queensland Reds general manager Sam Cordingley admitted he was worried Wilson might look overseas.<\/p>\n

"Harry had a fair amount of interest from overseas clubs, so it's great to have him remain in Queensland Rugby through 2025," he explained.<\/p>\n

"I'm sure he'll be highly motivated to achieve success with both the Reds and Wallabies over the next two seasons."<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Wilson has his eyes on a future in Australia, notably the British & Irish Lions series in 2025 and the Rugby World Cup which follows in 2027 \u2013 both on home soil.<\/p>\n

"I love playing for Queensland, this is my home," said Wilson.<\/p>\n

"We've got a great group on and off the field at Ballymore and there's plenty left for us to achieve in the Queensland jersey.<\/p>\n

"It's an exciting time in Australian rugby with a Lions Tour and World Cup coming up. I'm very motivated to be a part of it over the next few years."<\/p>\n

The Wallabies will have five Test matches before this year's World Cup in France.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first sees them take on South Africa in Pretoria on July 8. They'll return home for a contest against Argentina on July 15 in Sydney before two Tests against New Zealand.<\/p>\n

The Wallabies will host the All Blacks at the MCG on July 29 before crossing the ditch to play in Dunedin on August 5 \u2013 the two Tests doubling as Bledisloe Cup fixtures.<\/p>\n

Australia play France on August 27 in a World Cup warm-up in Paris.\u00a0<\/p>\n
