The Dolphins<\/a> strong recruitment drive has continued after the club snared Dragons<\/a> forward\ufeff Josh Kerr<\/a> for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.<\/p>\n

Kerr's move north is a homecoming for the former Queensland Maroons<\/a> squad member, having spent his junior career with Redcliffe Dolphins. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The 61-game career of Kerr has all been played at the Dragons, having debuted for the side in 2019.<\/p>\n

Kerr – who has spent time in the Melbourne Storm system – will be another key addition to Wayne Bennett<\/a>'s forward pack next year with Dolphins chief executive officer Terry Reader describing it as a great success story.<\/p>\n

"Josh is a really important recruit for the Dolphins and a good story for the game in general," he said.<\/p>\n

"One of the key reasons to put in the 17th<\/sup> team was to give more young local players a pathway to the NRL through our system.<\/p>\n

"Josh is an example of a good young Dolphins player that had to head to first Melbourne and then Sydney to make it in the NRL.<\/p>\n

"Now he will be able to represent his junior club in the best rugby league competition in the world.<\/p>\n

"In addition, he is a big and fast athletic forward with a point of difference who will add some size and balance to our pack.<\/p>\n

"And there is no doubt with his local history that Josh will become an immediate fan favourite with the Dolphins."<\/p>\n

Kerr will reunite with Bennett at the Dolphins, having been part of the Maroons squad in 2020 when it won State of Origin in one of the more unlikely series victories<\/a>. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The forward joins Herbie Farnworth and Tom Flegler as new recruits next year for the Dolphins.<\/p>\n
