The family of Dean Holland has spoken after the popular jockey was killed in a race fall in country Victoria on Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Holland, 34, died after a two-horse accident during the opening race at Donald, to the north-west of Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Tributes flowed on Monday evening and into Tuesday for the South Australian product who just last month won the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap\ufeff aboard In Secret.<\/p>\n

His partner Lucy Clampin, and his parents Belinda and Darren Holland\ufeff released a joint statement on Anzac Day.<\/p>\n

"Grief is completely overwhelming us after losing our beloved Dean yesterday (Monday) at Donald races," the statement said.<\/p>\n

"We are aware of thousands who are sharing our pain as we come to the reality we have lost a once-in-a-lifetime person, a much loved partner, an amazing father of four beautiful young children in Harley, Luca, Frankie and Lily, as well as a special brother and a wonderful son.<\/p>\n

"The outpouring of love for Dean and the care and support for us is helping us deal with our loss.<\/p>\n

"We are thinking of Dean's colleagues in the jockeys room as well as all in our industry that he loved so much.<\/p>\n

"Finally, as a family, we ask that we be given the privacy we need at this time as we begin to come to terms with our loss."<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe page has been created to assist the family.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Racing Victoria postponed meetings at Flemington and at Moe on Tuesday as the industry came to grips with the tragedy.<\/p>\n
