Collingwood<\/a> sent a record Melbourne Cricket Ground<\/a> crowd into raptures with a remarkable comeback victory on Anzac Day.<\/p>\n

The \ufeffMagpies were down by 28 points against old foe Essendon<\/a> in what is traditionally the biggest game on the AFL<\/a> calendar outside finals.<\/p>\n

But a stunning seven-goal final quarter from the black and white side clinched an epic 13.12 (90) to 11.11 (77) victory in front of 95,179 supporters at a heaving MCG.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThat figure is the second largest crowd to attend a home-and-away fixture, and the biggest on record for the April 25 blockbuster.<\/p>\n

The incredible figh\ufefftback was led by 20-year-old Pies whizkid Nick Daicos, who kicked the goal to put his side in front in the dying stages.<\/p>\n

All up Daicos had 40 touches for the game, two goals and a goal assist.<\/p>\n

He was awarded the Anzac Medal with 12 votes, given the maximum three by all four judges.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Collingwood did it largely without veteran Scott Pendlebury late in the piece as he was poked in the eye in a marking contest and had to leave the field.<\/p>\n

It was a heartbreaking loss for the Bombers, who had dominated for large parts of the game but fell over in the final quarter.<\/p>\n

Essendon forward Kyle Langford had even taken the chance to taunt a Pies fan earlier in the game when the team was on top.<\/p>\n

When a ball went over the boundary fence a supporter collected it, and rather than hand it to Langford he threw it on the ground, then gave a lewd gesture to the player for good measure.<\/p>\n

Langford calmly went back and slotted the goal from the boundary, then turned and gave his own gesture to the Magpies fan with a smile on his face.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I thought this was hilarious," AFL great Jason Dunstall said on Fox Footy of the Langford incident.<\/p>\n

"Have a look at the Pies fan. He's holding it there, says 'cop that mate' then 'here's a little bit of interest for the equation'.<\/p>\n

"That's over the top and hopefully he's a bit embarrassed when he sees that behaviour.<\/p>\n

"But I love this. Go back, kick the goal and (Langford) says 'mate that was for you'.<\/p>\n

"Didn't give him the bird, didn't do anything untoward, just said 'that one's for you'. I loved it."<\/p>\n

Collingwood faces Adelaide next week, while the Bombers host Geelong back at the MCG.<\/p>\n
