The LIV Golf<\/a> star who was responsible for causing a shower of beer and a myriad of other drinks by hitting a hole-in-one at the inaugural event in Adelaide on Sunday<\/a> said it was a moment he will never forget.<\/p>\n

Chase Koepka's shot on the par-3 12th hole – dubbed the Watering Hole for the week – sent the crowd into raptures as they covered the tee box, approaches, green and bunker with cans and cups, causing a short delay for his two playing partners while the mess was cleaned up.<\/p>\n

It was the second ace in LIV's short history.<\/p>\n

"It was pretty epic out there, I mean, what a hole to do it on, in front of some unbelievable fans out there all week," Koepka told Nine's Today<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Chase<\/p>\n

"I'm glad I gave them something to cheer for and something to drink for, that's for sure."<\/p>\n

Keopka said the crowd's reaction was "deafening".<\/p>\n

"It wasn't only that hole – it was the entire crowd all week. Everywhere we went, they made us feel really special being here.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"But when that ball went in the hole, I've never experienced anything like that. The roar, it was so deafening.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"Literally shortly after I just remember getting hit with some beer cans and some beer flying around. It was something I'll never forget that's for sure.<\/p>\n

"It's hard to describe how [the crowd] made us feel. I get goosebumps thinking about it again."<\/p>\n

South Australian premier Peter Malinauskas said LIV's arrival in Adelaide had "changed perceptions" of the state and the City of Churches.<\/p>\n

\"Hole<\/p>\n

"Those images are exceptionally powerful. They've gone absolutely crazy all around the world. It's a pretty fun weekend," he told Today<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Malinauskas said the entire event was put together in only four-and-a-half months. He said with a full 12 months until the next event, organisers had ample time to make improvements.<\/p>\n

"This is the biggest golf tour that has happened in the southern hemisphere for 50 years \u2026 I think they're onto something with this new format.<\/p>\n

"The way that crowds responded – it sold out in less than a week. Next year it will be bigger and better."<\/p>\n
