Australia's Madison de Rozario<\/a> has won the London Marathon<\/a> for the second time following a remarkable finish.<\/p>\n

De Rozario, who won gold at the Tokyo Paralympics<\/a>, prevailed by just one second over the defending champion, Manuela Sch\u00e4r from Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old finished in one hour, 38 minutes and 51 seconds. Incredibly, the top four were separated by just six seconds.<\/p>\n

"That last 1200 metres was incredibly intense," de Rozario told Nine's Today.<\/em><\/p>\n

"There's four of us, so everyone can do the very quick maths, one of us is not ending up on this podium.<\/p>\n

"All four of us thought that we would be the fourth, there's so much respect in that top four."<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Australian also won the event in 2018.<\/p>\n

"It was an incredibly tough field, the four of us pushed together for almost the entire 42 kilometres," she said.<\/p>\n

"In those moments you look at everyone around you and you're listing everything they've ever done, every achievement, every race they've won.<\/p>\n

\"Madison<\/p>\n

"Those list of strengths is so long, and the list of flaws is so incredibly short, it's an intimidating group to push with.<\/p>\n

"To bring it home like that is unreal."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kenyan Kelvin Kiptum collapsed to the ground after recording the second fastest time ever.<\/p>\n

Kiptum won the men's race in two hours, one minute and 25 seconds\ufeff, just 16 seconds outside Eliud Kipchoge's world record.<\/p>\n

"I am so happy with the result," said Kiptum. "I don't know what to say right now, I am just grateful. The course felt good, there was a bit of rain around halfway but it was OK.<\/p>\n

"I enjoy doing the marathons, it is good preparation for me. I loved it, I am very happy."<\/p>\n

Distance great Mo Farah finished ninth in his final marathon.<\/p>\n

In the women's event, Sifan Hassan overcame a hip injury to claim victory, to add to her Olympic gold medals in the 5000 and 10,000 metres\ufeff.<\/p>\n
