S\ufeffydney<\/a> has slumped to its worst loss in 25 years after copping a belting at the hands of Geelong<\/a> in the AFL grand final rematch.<\/p>\n

After being handily beaten by 81 points in last year's decider, the Swans did not fare any better on Saturday night as the Cats ran out 20. 10. (130) to 5. 7. (37) winners<\/a> at GMHBA Stadium.<\/p>\n

Geelong came out of the gates on fire, kicking six goals to two in the opening quarter and never looked back, leading at every change to secure their third straight win.<\/p>\n

Captain Patrick Dangerfield enjoyed his best match of the season, finishing with 31 disposals and seven clearances to go along with a goal.<\/p>\n

Geelong had five multiple goalkickers, with star duo Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron booting five goals each against an undermanned Sydney backline.<\/p>\n

Such was the Cats dominance, the Swans fifth and final goal came late in the second quarter. They mustered just three behinds in the entirety of the second half.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Cats' win was somewhat soured by a second-half incident involving star midfielder Mitch Duncan.<\/p>\n

Duncan was chasing a loose ball with Sydney's Robbie Fox coming the other way, and braced for contact as Fox lost his footing and collided into his shoulder.<\/p>\n

Geelong great Cameron Mooney suggested that the decision on Duncan's bump could go either way.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffHe (Fox) comes past the ball and he's also slipping, so he's down low. As he's gone past the ball, Mitch has got to protect himself," he told Fox Footy.<\/p>\n

\"Geelong<\/p>\n

"I think it's just a bit of football play, but unfortunately he's hit his head on the ground, so that's going to be the big one.<\/p>\n

"If you decide to bump … the head hitting the ground, that's going to hurt in the long run.<\/p>\n

"There is a lot of grey area there with Fox going past the ball and basically running into Mitch himself."<\/p>\n

The Cats will be in action next \ufeffSunday when they face Essendon at the MCG while the Swans will host the Giants at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
