The Perth Scorchers could be set to lose their home-ground advantage for Thursday night's 'Challenger' final after Western Australia plummeted into lockdown.<\/p>\n

The Scorchers are scheduled to play the winner of tonight's 'Knockout' clash between the Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat at Optus Stadium, but that's now uncertain after Western Australian premier Mark McGowan thrust the state into a lockdown spanning five days.<\/p>\n

Western Australia was forced into lockdown at 6pm on Sunday and it will last until 6pm on Friday, a desperate response to the state registering its first locally acquired COVID-19 case in almost 10 months.<\/p>\n

The 'Challenger' won't necessarily be moved interstate, with deputy chief health officer Andrew Robinson saying the possibility of a crowdless match had not been ruled out.<\/p>\n

But even if the fixture remains at the 60,000-seat venue, the Scorchers wouldn't be bolstered by a sea of parochial Perth supporters.<\/p>\n
