P\ufeffort Adelaide<\/a> great Kane Cornes<\/a> says he will continue to taunt Kangaroos<\/a> fans on social media, despite the firestorm surrounding Jason Horne-Francis<\/a>, in a move described as "juvenile" by Roos great David King.<\/p>\n

Cornes and King went head-to-head on SEN radio on Friday morning following a week where King was called out by Port coach Ken Hinkley<\/a> for his commentary on Horne-Francis, who has been roundly booed by opposition fans this season.\ufeff<\/p>\n

King, who won two premierships with the Kangaroos, \ufeffcalled on Cornes to cease throwing barbs at downtrodden North fans when the following exchange took place.<\/p>\n

King:<\/strong> "Are you ever going to use hashtag ice bath again?"<\/p>\n

Cornes:<\/strong> "Why wouldn't I?"<\/p>\n

\"Kane<\/p>\n

King:<\/strong> "Because you've seen what's happened."<\/p>\n

Cornes:<\/strong> "So North Melbourne fans are that weak-minded that I get under their skin?"<\/p>\n

King:<\/strong> "I'm just asking you – are you going to troll them again?"<\/p>\n

Cornes:<\/strong> "If you think hashtag icebath is trolling and Cam Zurhaar is not, then that shows your bias."<\/p>\n

King:<\/strong> "That's disappointing. That's not going help Jason."<\/p>\n

Cornes:<\/strong> "Are you critical of Zurhaar for mocking him twice?"<\/p>\n

King:<\/strong> "I didn't think it was classy. If you use hashtag icebath again, I think that's the most juvenile thing I've ever heard you do."<\/p>\n

\"Port<\/p>\n

Cornes:<\/strong> "Well I'm telling you I will. If I live rent-free in their heads like that, then I just find it amusing."<\/p>\n

King:<\/strong> "It doesn't help Jason. That is all I'm saying. It doesn't help your boy."<\/p>\n

The exchange came after King urged Cornes to take responsibility in his role in the Horne-Francis furore.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffYou have to put your hand up for a percentage of the responsibility here," he said.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThis started when you engaged in trolling the Kangaroo fans with the icebath discussion which you know is a nonsense discussion to put the onus back on the North Melbourne footy club, who were poor last year. The people that were poor last year have been sacked.<\/p>\n

\"Cornes<\/p>\n

"When you troll the Kangaroo fans and engage in a discussion that's hashtag icebath, every time you write hashtag icebath you know that's a little needle in the side of those trollers on Twitter and it's lit a fuse that they couldn't answer.<\/p>\n

"They couldn't answer that until the footy season started and they saw a vehicle in Jason Horne-Francis to get back at you.<\/p>\n

"You lit a fire that has raged out of control since the season started. You started a fight that has gotten out of control."<\/p>\n

Cornes revealed that his criticism of North Melbourne has come off the back of learning more about how Horne-Francis was treated in his rookie season at the club, comparing the treatment with that given to troubled youngster Tarryn Thomas.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"The support of Tarryn Thomas, that wasn't there for Jason Horne-Francis, I'm still blown away by to this day. I can't get my head around it," he said.<\/p>\n

"I'm not going to back away from any criticism that North Melbourne have completely botched having one of their most talented players ever.<\/p>\n

"I wouldn't back away from what I said about Horne-Francis. That was prior to me knowing the lack of support that he had, the lack of medical treatment that he had on the hamstring issues that were affecting him.<\/p>\n

"The support that was given to Tarryn Thomas that they were trying to sweep under the carpet, there is a whole host of reasons that I had no idea about.<\/p>\n

\"Cornes<\/p>\n

"I don't necessarily blame him – now that I know what he was going through – for his actions at North Melbourne last year."<\/p>\n

Cornes' view was supported by Kangaroos great Wayne Carey, who also defended Horne-Francis for his decision to leave the club after just one season.<\/p>\n

"If I was Jason Horne-Francis I would have left North Melbourne as well, 100 per cent you would leave," Carey said on his own podcast, The Truth Hurts<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"I have no problem with his decision to leave, loyalty went out of this game a long time ago."\ufeff<\/p>\n
