Australian Test captain Tim Paine has gone in to bat for coach Justin Langer<\/a> after a report suggested that his intense management style had left players disgruntled.<\/p>\n

Langer's leadership methods have been put under the spotlight after Australia's shock defeat in the fourth and final Test against India<\/a>, gave the tourists two straight Test series wins down under for the first time in their history.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old was forced to defend his relationship with his players<\/a> after a Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> report suggested that Langer's methods had been wearing thin.<\/p>\n

However, Paine leaped to his coach's defence, dismissing any claims of player unrest.<\/p>\n

\"Justin<\/p>\n

"JL is a passionate guy, particularly when it comes to this team and Australian cricket," Paine told The Sunday Telegraph<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"He's also the guy who kicks the bin over and then puts the rubbish back in.<\/p>\n

"He wears his heart on his sleeve, is tough, fair and at times emotional, just as he was as a player and now as a coach.<\/p>\n

"You would be worried if that wasn't the case."<\/p>\n

Langer also received backing from Cricket Australia national teams manager Ben Oliver who backed him to handle the "politics" of the dressing room.<\/p>\n

"He [Langer] has always set high standards for himself and the team and this has been a key driver in improving culture and performance," Oliver told The Sydney Morning Herald<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Justin leads with integrity, passion and great care for his players, staff and the game more broadly. Unquestionable qualities that will continue to hold Australian cricket in good stead."<\/p>\n
