A\ufeffdelaide<\/a> star Izak Rankine has become the latest Indigenous AFL<\/a> player to be racially abused, with the youngster attacked on social media.<\/p>\n

The Crows confirmed the attack via a statement on Monday evening, calling it "unacceptable and disgraceful".<\/p>\n

\ufeff"All of us have a responsibility to call out this type of reprehensible behaviour," Crows CEO Tim Silvers said in the statement.<\/p>\n

"Equally, we must also take the time to understand the hurt it causes the person who has been targeted, as well as in this instance all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.<\/p>\n

"From the Chairman and Board of Directors through to our players, coaches, staff and volunteers, we are determined to use our voice and platform to continue to make a stand.<\/p>\n

"We are committed to playing a role in educating as many people as we possibly can."<\/p>\n

Rankine revealed that he'd been sent the abusive message on Instagram, sharing a screenshot from the abuser on his story.<\/p>\n

"Pretty disappointing to STILL have to deal with this," the youngster wrote.<\/p>\n

The attack on Rankine comes just weeks after Indigenous Bulldogs youngster Jamarra Ugle-Hagan was subjected to a racist attack<\/a> after a loss to St Kilda.<\/p>\n

Ugle-hagan responded to the attack with a match-winning five-goal effort the following week, paying homage to Indigenous AFL icon Nicky Winmar<\/a> by emulating his famous anti-racism stance from 1993.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Crows have contacted the AFL's Integrity Department in the wake of the incident.<\/p>\n
