Israel Adesanya<\/a> has reclaimed the middleweight title after defeating Alex Pereira by knockout in the main event at UFC<\/a> 287.<\/p>\n

Adesanya secured the championship with a stunning second-round knockout.<\/p>\n

The pair traded \ufeffcalf kicks early in a virtually inconclusive first round.<\/p>\n

Executing a similar scheme to their previous meeting, Pereira peppered kicks to Adesanya's legs in an attempt to slow the New Zealander down.<\/p>\n

But \ufeffAdesanya soon put an end to the teasing.<\/p>\n

After being backed up to the fence, \ufeffAdesanya unfurled a jarring right hand that sent Pereira tumbling to the canvas.<\/p>\n

"Oh my goodness," the commentary team continuously repeated.<\/p>\n

"Alex Pereira did not respect the power coming back in his way and he paid for it," commentator Daniel Cormier said.<\/p>\n

"That may be one of the greatest KOs I have ever seen in my life," added Joe Rogan.<\/p>\n

Speaking afterwards, Adesanya basked in the joy of finally conquering Pereira.<\/p>\n

"I hope every one of you behind the screens or in this arena can feel this level of happiness just one time in your life.<\/p>\n

You'll never feel this level of happiness if you don't go for something in your life, when they knock down, when they shit on you, when they talk shit about you and try put their foot on your neck. If you stay down, you will never ever get that result.<\/p>\n

"Fortify your mind and feel this level of happiness as you rise. One time in your life but I'm blessed to be able to feel this shit again and again and again and again."<\/p>\n

After surrendering his \ufeffmiddleweight crown<\/a> and being beaten a further two times by Pereira in kickboxing, Adesanya said the losses only energised him to work harder.<\/p>\n
