Eels<\/a> winger Bailey Simonsson has been charged by the NRL<\/a> match review committee and faces a two-week ban for his high tackle on James Tedesco<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Simonsson was hit with a grade three careless high tackle charge, which means the Parramatta player will miss the next two games with an early guilty plea. If he chooses to challenge the finding and loses, he would cop a three game ban.<\/p>\n

Simonsson's tackle left the Roosters captain dazed and forced him off the field for a HIA\ufeff. Tedesco has been ruled out of the Roosters' clash with the Storm on Thursday due to the NRL's new concussion rules.<\/p>\n

Roosters coach Robinson said he was "ropeable" about the incident as it unfolded but softened his stance after the match.<\/p>\n

"I was expecting a send-off," Robinson said.<\/p>\n

"To be honest I was ropeable at the time that it wasn't a send-off, and then I looked at it after the game and I was a bit more 50-50 when I took some time to have a look at it."<\/p>\n

"I knew 10 minutes into the game that I've lost (Tedesco) for two weeks, so that wasn't a great feeling," Robinson said.<\/p>\n

"And the first thing was I wanted to make sure that he was okay. He looked pretty good in there but we'll have to see after tonight and tomorrow."<\/p>\n

Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary agreed the Simonsson tackle was not in the higher category of brutality.<\/p>\n

"It wasn't an awful one," Keary said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"There was no malice in it"\ufeff<\/p>\n

However, rugby league legend Johnathan Thurston disagreed.<\/p>\n

"This should have been a send off," Thurston said.<\/p>\n

"I truly believe that should have been a send off."\ufeff<\/p>\n

The suspension to Simonsson is a bitter blow to the Eels following the 28-20 loss which sunk them to a 1-4 start to the season.<\/p>\n
