We've often heard about the perils of social media and how it can be a distraction to athletes in their quest to maximise their potential.<\/p>\n

However, none of that seems to apply to Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry.<\/p>\n

Curry has come to life this NBA season after critics lashed the star for a slow start in the absence of fellow splash brother Klay Thompson. The Warriors haven't been in championship form but Curry has looked like his old self after a career-high 62-points against the Portland Trail Blazers.<\/p>\n

The three-time champion and unanimous MVP is averaging 28.4 points this year and former teammate Andrew Bogut has revealed how Curry keeps himself motivated especially when he's having a bad game.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his Rogue Bogues podcast<\/em>, Bogut claims that if Curry had played poorly during the first half, he would read comments on Twitter to get himself in the zone.<\/p>\n

"He'll check his mentions at halftime, when he has a bad half," he said.<\/p>\n

"It's the craziest s–t I ever saw. Yeah, Steph, if he had a bad half, he would go on social media and then come out and drop 30."<\/p>\n

The likelihood Curry checked his social media at halftime in a recent game against the champion Lakers is high.<\/p>\n

Curry inspired Golden State to a come from behind victory after a quiet first two quarters by his standards.<\/p>\n

The Warriors were down 64-48 at halftime with the three-point scoring whiz scoring just seven points. He finished up with 19 but scored the match defining three-pointer late in the match to seal the win.<\/p>\n

It was much the same against the LA Clippers when Curry turned things around after his side was down by 22 points.<\/p>\n

Trailing 85-63, Curry scored or assisted on 16 of Golden State's next 18 points to finish with 38 points and 11 assists in a 115-110 win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
