The Sharks<\/a> have made the finals in John Morris' first two years – yet elements in the club want to knife him.<\/p>\n

RECRUITMENT:<\/strong> Not much movement in or out, although Luke Metcalf from Manly could be a handy addition to the halves. Plenty of dead wood will be culled for next year.<\/p>\n

STRENGTHS:<\/strong> A well-balanced squad with veterans Josh Dugan, Shaun Johnson, Andrew Fifita and Matt Moylan mixed with the young talent Morris has blooded over the past couple of years.<\/p>\n

WEAKNESSES:<\/strong> It's an old cliche that defence wins matches but it remains true – and bearing that in mind, it's surprising the Sharks made the finals last year. They missed more tackles than any team in the NRL in 2020 and need to tighten around the rucks.<\/p>\n

MAN UNDER PRESSURE:<\/strong> Coach Morris – he'll be without his best attacking weapon in Johnson for at least the first two months and the Sharks have a tough draw in that time. The knives are already out – but the coach deserves a fair go.<\/p>\n

ONE TO WATCH:<\/strong> The Sharks pinched Ryan Rivett, a halfback or five eighth, from the Titans. The 19-year-old has yet to play NRL but could be a handy gain given Johnson's injury woes.<\/p>\n

WHAT MOLEY SAYS:<\/strong> Plenty of strike power but also a few injury-prone players who, if they don't last the distance, could make it a long year for Sharks fans.<\/p>\n
