A Cricket Australia report into this year's spiteful SCG Test has determined that India were subjected to racial abuse but the six men ejected on day four were not the culprits.<\/p>\n

In dramatic scenes in the third Test, play stopped for 10 minutes after India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj complained to the umpires about crowd behaviour while fielding on the boundary.<\/p>\n

Police officers eventually led six men out of their seats and the Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> reports that India had threatened to stop playing unless action was taken.<\/a><\/p>\n

"CA's investigation concluded that the spectators filmed and\/or photographed by media in the Brewongle Stand concourse at the conclusion of the 86th over on day four of the Test\u00a0did not engage in racist behaviour," CA's head of integrity and security Sean Carroll said in a statement released on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

However, that was just one of several flashpoints throughout the Test <\/a>and Carroll confirmed that CA's report to the International Cricket Council made for ugly reading.<\/p>\n

They just haven't located the perpetrators yet.<\/p>\n

"CA confirms that members of the Indian cricket team were subjected to racial abuse," Carroll said.<\/p>\n

"CA's own investigation into the matter remains open, with CCTV footage, ticketing data and interviews with spectators still being analysed in an attempt to locate those responsible.<\/p>\n

"Spectators who are found to have breached CA's Anti-Harassment Code face lengthy bans, further sanctions and referral to NSW Police.<\/p>\n

"As stated at the time of the incident, CA has a zero tolerance\u00a0policy towards discriminatory behaviour in all forms and, as hosts of the Border-Gavaskar series, apologises to the Indian men's cricket team.<\/p>\n

"CA is awaiting confirmation from NSW Police that it has completed its investigation into the matter and will not offer further comment until it is received."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
