Formula 1<\/a> teams have been looking for ways to save money since cost cap regulations were brought into play to try and keep the playing field even.<\/p>\n

But Haas' \ufefflatest cost-cutting measure during pre-season testing in Bahrain has gained traction on social media, with their innovation never before seen on the pit straight.<\/p>\n

Team principal Guenther Steiner and Haas showed off their three-man pit wall, which had F1 fans talking, especially since teams along the pit straight normally have a wall of engineers with several screens monitoring other teams strategies. Usually 5-7 people are found in the area.<\/p>\n

The downsized pit wall has saved the team an estimated $$371,000 on transport costs, which will be diverted to car development.<\/p>\n

Freelance F1 journalist Chris Medland wrote: "The Haas pit wall that will already save it $250,000 a year is not finished yet \u2026 the team is actually looking to completely reduce it to a wall that can go via sea freight and be replicated six times \u2013 saving another $250,000 compared to the airfreight version."<\/p>\n

F1 writer Vincenzo Landino wrote: "And it looks like they're not done. Haas is exploring more cost-saving around the pit wall. Big fan of what they're doing to be able to spend on the car."<\/p>\n

One user replied: "Haas saves $400K per season by limiting each engineer to a slice of pizza per race weekend."<\/p>\n

Another added: "Haas thinking outside the box. The tiny, tiny little box."<\/p>\n
