Aaron Finch's poor form with the bat continued on Tuesday, with Australia's limited-overs captain once again unable to post a respectable score for his Melbourne Renegades.<\/p>\n
But fortunately for the Renegades' skipper, his side showed fans a glimpse of what's to come in the future with an 11-run win over the Hobart Hurricanes. The Renegades officially ended their season with four wins and 10 losses from 14 games.<\/p>\n
And the news for the Hurricanes, who were chasing just 151 runs to win at the MCG, isn't much better with today's loss officially knocking Hobart out of finals contention.<\/p>\n
The Hurricanes got off to the perfect start when Finch, who produced just six runs from seven deliveries, was dismissed by Riley Meredith in another underperforming innings.<\/p>\n
Finch finished the season with a total of 179 runs at an average of just 13.76, well down from last year's average of 45.38.<\/p>\n
The 34-year-old's disaster BBL season puts the Australia side in an awkward spot as Finch gets set to resume his captaincy with a five-match T20 series against New Zealand scheduled for February.<\/p>\n

"Aaron Finch's Big Bash has ended pretty much as it started," Mel Jones said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n
Australian cricket great Mike Hussey added: "Disappointing for Aaron Finch.<\/p>\n
"He was trying to hit Riley Meredith out of the park and he didn't get any timing on it whatsoever and that ball was up in the air for a very long time."<\/p>\n
After Finch departed, Shaun Marsh (12 off 14), Sam Harper (19 off 16) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (zero off two) all followed with disappointing innings.<\/p>\n
But 40 from Mackenzie Harvey and an unbeaten 54 of 35 from Beau Webster gave the Renegades' bowlers a defendable score.<\/p>\n

The second innings saw Zak Evans produce one of the best bowling performances of the tournament, his figures of 5-33 suffocating the Hurricanes.<\/p>\n
Evans dismissed the big-hitting duo of Matthew Wade (13 off six) and D'Arcy Short (29 off 32) to help lead his side to a shock victory.<\/p>\n
