Australia Test star Marnus Labuschagne has put in a player-of-the-match performance for the Brisbane Heat, who have cemented their spot in the BBL finals series with a six-run win over the Perth Scorchers.<\/p>\n
The Heat produced their biggest total of the BBL season with a score of 7-181 from 20 overs.<\/p>\n
Brisbane skipper Chris Lynn led the way with 51 from 25 deliveries, while Labuschagne (46 off 38) and Lewis Gregory (36 off 23) chipped in to hand the Scorchers a giant total to chase down.<\/p>\n
The Scorchers fell short by six runs, finishing with 6-175, but the match went down to the final ball with Mitch Marsh, who blasted 54 from 26, needing a six to send the game to a super over.<\/p>\n

Marsh's big innings gave life to the Scorchers when it seemed near-impossible his side would find themselves in a position to win.<\/p>\n
But it was all Labuschagne, whose knock of 46, along with bowling figures of 3-35 from four overs, led to Australian cricket great Mark Waugh asking why the Test batsman wasn't given more overs to bowl in the humiliating series loss to India<\/a>.<\/p>\n "He should have bowled a lot more this summer," Waugh said on Fox Cricket.<\/em><\/p>\n "Ashton Turner looked like he was playing down the wrong line."<\/p>\n Commentator Brendan Julian added: "Tim Paine, have a look.
